SCHOOL BOOK FAIR 2017
Our annual Book Fair, provided by Celtic Travelling Book Company, takes place from Monday 13th November until Friday 17th November.
The Book Fair is a wonderful way to promote literacy, a great way for the school community to come together and is an ideal opportunity to stock up on Christmas presents for family and friends.
The Celtic Book Fair offers a real choice in children’s books from all the major publishers including picture books, fiction, non-fiction, activity and factual books. Each fair offers up to 300 titles with selections to suit every age, taste, interest and budget. During the week children will become familiar with the available books and will be given opportunities to personally choose what they would like to read.
The school too will gain handsomely from the event. For every two books bought during the week of the Book Fair, the school will receive one free book. These books are used to replenish and restock our class libraries with quality reading for all ages.
Each child has received a leaflet showing a selection of the books available at the Fair. The full display will be located in the Small Hall. The children will visit the Book Fair with their class at the times as listed below. Parents are invited to come along and help their child choose a book if they wish but there is no obligation to do so.
If you are unable to come at the appointed time, there are other ways you can purchase books:
- You can send money for the books and the child’s teacher will assist in the appropriate choice of books. Cheques should be made payable to the school.
- An Open Night will be held in the school on Wednesday 15th. November from 7.30pm to 9.00pm for all children and their families. You are welcome to come and buy or come and browse.
- While the Junior Infant children are not allocated a slot in the Rota, they are welcome to visit the Book Fair with their parents in the Small Hall any day from Monday – Thursday 1.45pm – 2.30pm.
