Welcome to our class blog. Here you will find lots of photos and information about what we are getting up to in school!
Pen-Pals from San Francisco!
As you probably know, we have set up pen-pals with a second grade class in San Francisco! Ms. Dillon is a friend of Mr. O'Grady and they thought it would be a fantastic idea to set pen-pals up between the two classes! We are awaiting our letters and video, and they are awaiting the same! Here is an email that Ms. Dillon sent from her class to ours...
Welcome Ms. Reilly and Ms. Power!
We would like to welcome Ms. Reilly and Ms. Power to our class. We are very happy and excited to have three teachers teaching us for the next few weeks! Here are some photos of the brilliant Aistear activities they have introduced to our class!
Oíche Shamhna Shona Duit!
We have been learning lots about Halloween! We learnt about the History of Halloween, we did Halloween art, Halloween around the world and even Halloween as gaeilge! As a lovely treat today we even got to make chocolate apples! Have a look at some of the pictures and hopefully they don't make you hungry by looking at them...
Cinnin Óir agus na Trí mBéar
Rinneamar drámaíocht bunaithe ar an scéal Cinnín Óir agus na Trí mBéar... Féach ar na pictiúir!
The Readathon has kicked off once again this year. We are very excited to read as many books as possible and hopefully all be entered into the monster raffle at the end of the four weeks! We are reading as much as we can at home and have been chatting a lot about the importance of reading as much as possible even when the readathon is finished. We have also teamed up with Ms. Burke's class in Room 24 for buddy reading. Thanks to the boys and girls in this class in helping us to reach the amount of books we are aiming to read!
Safer Internet Day 2018!
6th February 2018 marked the date for Safer Internet Day! We had a very important discussion about how even though the Internet can be a fun and useful place, it can also be a very dangerous place. We then designed posters marking the importance of online safety. Thanks to Mr. Costello for the cool wristbands we received to mark this important date too!

STEM Week 2018
We had a fantastic STEM Fortnight this year. We did lots of engineering, mathematical and scientific tasks. We did Lego workshops with LEARN-it and we also were given different tasks to complete in our classrooms. Many thanks to Ms. O'Brien who organised everything!
G.A.A. Coaching and Promotion
Big thanks to Johnathon from Celbridge G.A.A. who has come into us to help us develop our skills in the support! We have really enjoyed the past few weeks!
