projects 2019
- Charity Clothing Collection – Thanks for the massive support for this fund-raiser. A total of €564 was raised! Well done to all involved.
- STEM Contribution – We had a Planetarium in the school in April, Exploration Dome, thanks to the PA who donated €1200 for this incredible opportunity. All classes from Junior Infants to 2nd Class, (and as many others as we could manage!!) got to experience the wonder of outer-space, life in the depths of the ocean, features affecting climate change, the International Space Station in what was a truly memorable and awe-inspiring few days. We hope to provide the same experience for the rest of the school next year. We may have inspired future astronauts!
- Bake Sale: The 6th class children, with the help of the Parents’ Association and their teachers, held a Bake Sale in the school on Friday 21st June. The children were busy promoting it, organizing timetables for the day and assigning jobs. All classes from 1st – 5th visited the bake sale, and all proceeds went towards the much-loved Graduation T-Shirts.
- Michelle Goodburn, presented the principal with a cheque for €10,000 at the Coffee Morning on 15th February. This generous donation is for a new bike rack for the school. It is our intention to free up more yard space for the senior children by re-locating the bike rack. Due to the space restriction around the school, it is proving difficult to find a space, but we are working on it and the donation by the PA will be used in its entirety for this project.
- STEM Donation: the PA donated €1,200 to the school to fund the mobile planetarium. Half the school will be afforded the opportunity to explore the wonders of space this year and the rest of the school will experience it next year.
- Dress Up as a Book Character – the PA raised €476 from this fun initiative. Many thanks for your support.
