September

As part of our Geography and English lessons, we went on a tour of the school.
Our tour included the school office and we met our secretaries: Eileen and Siobhán.
We also visited the garden and met our caretaker. His name is Val.
The sunflowers in the garden have grown over the summer!

OCTOBER
Autumnal colours are creeping into Room 23 this week.

We went for an autumn stroll around the school to see the beautiful colours on the trees.

We saw a variety of trees.. Ash, Sycamore, Horse Chestnut, and Silver Birch.

Some conkers were bursting out in the leaves above.

Room 23 made some spooky art.

We mixed the primary colours (red, yellow, and blue) to make secondary colours (green, purple, and orange).

We used these creepy colours to make a Halloween background.

Happy Halloween from Room 23!

On the last day before Midterm, we dressed up in our costumes.

We went to a Halloween parade in the yard and had a Spooky Disco.

DECEMBER

We made lovely winter art to decorate our classroom this Christmas.

To make the winter scenes, we practiced mixing colour with white to create different shades.

We used potatoes to print the penguins bodies before sticking on details.
December was a busy month.
We visited Santa's Grotto in the foyer and Santa came to visit us in Paul's Garden.
Finally, we decorated our classroom door for the competition.

Thanks to the Parents' Association for a wonderful Christmas in school.
Happy Christmas everyone!

JANUARY
It snowed on our second day back after the Christmas Holidays.

FEBRUARY

We created a collaborative piece of art to celebrate
St. Brigid's Day on February 1st.

Every child in Senior Infants created a collage with fabric.
We then combined all of these collages to create
St. Brigid's Cloak.

MARCH
March 3rd was World Book Day. We dressed up as our favourite characters from a variety of books.

Throughout March, we watched as
a miniature Daffodil grew from a bulb.

We also had crocus and tulip bulbs
growing in the classroom.

We kept a close eye on them all,
hoping to see their flowers open.
We had a great time in our first St. Patrick's Day Parade
in Scoil Mochua.

It was loud, it was green,
and it very fun!
